There. The first day back from a week without touching my laptop, and I discover M83, a lovely French electronic pop band through a Babelgum link. For every hundred dime-a-dozen bands, you get one good one. :)
In lieu of the usual festivities of Thanksgiving day, I (in sequential order, or close to):
-- finished a drawing I began on the 24th, inked and colored
-- did math homework
-- was disappointed when I found out the relatives I haven't seen in about four years and who were supposed to show up had their car broken down in the middle of getting here and turned back the way they came
-- read Love In The Time of Cholera, which gets better and better
-- absorbed two of three discs of Electric Light Orchestra's Flashback album
-- watched Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore sway to "Unchained Melody" in the movie "Ghosts", and Whoopie Goldberg is GOLD
-- died when I saw and heard Paul McCartney and Billy Joel duet to "I Saw Her Standing There" in McCartney's Good Evening New York City on TV (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QoPvVEOxn_s)
-- laughed at the news reporter labeling the reality TV stars who crashed an invite-only White House dinner "wannabes"
-- had post-post-dinner Mio noodles, after which I took a nap at 12:15am that eventually became sleep.
I was dipped into a paradise of persimmony hearts this weekend. :)
Band concert is this Friday! And full orch next Thursday, I believe.. much ado this half-month. And! Come winter break, Rock Band can finally be opened! It's been collecting dust in the basement since school started, waiting patiently for us to break open its lovely Rock Band-y box after nearly a semester of drooled-over homeworking nights. Only a moment more, my beautyyyy....
